Santa Rosa CA | Wine Country Wedding
During Labor Day weekend, Dub-C and I traveled to Santa Rosa CA to attend the wedding of our friends P and D. What made this wedding really special was that it served as a mini-reunion with a set of our Los Angeles friends.
Santa Rosa is a lovely little town and we decided to rent a little vacation home for the weekend. It was a great space to catch up, sit around the kitchen with some coffee and enjoy poolside relaxation before the wedding.
A small group of us decided to take advantage of being in the heart of wine country to do a wine tasting before the wedding. We were torn with the idea of just lounging around the pool as well, so we wanted to do both. We decided to hit up the Kendall Jackson winery and get back home to squeeze in some pool time before the wedding.
However, on the drive over to KJ, we realized we were all hungry. We caught sight of an In-N-Out off of an exit and made the game time decision to stop. Dub-C was excited since it was his first time visiting In-N-Out since we left Los Angeles over a year ago.
When we drove out the parking lot after lunch, Dub-C had a huge smile on his face and that made my heart happy.
The Kendall Jackson Winery is a lovely property. You drive past fields of grape vines and gardens to get to there.
We all did a classic tasting and got to choose four of the wines off their list to try. Many of the wines we tasted are only available through their winery or their wine club and are not sold in stores. I’m not going to lie, but my palette is still not distinguished enough to discern the different notes in wine for me to know the difference. I just know if I like it. Or not.
I saw this display and immediately thought, “Anthropologie”. And I was right! Kendall Jackson donated 1.75 million corks to Anthropologie for their Earth Day campaign. You may have noticed various cork decorations in their stores this summer, courtesy of Kendall Jackson.
To close out our visit to the KJ winery, we decided to take a stroll through their gardens that they use for wine education. It was a lovely little visit!
We made it back to the house in time to spend an hour or two in the backyard next to the pool before we had to get dressed and get over to the wedding site.
And now, for the main event! The wedding! There’s no secret that I’m in love with weddings, so I really pay attention to all the details and personalization that couples put into their weddings. P and D’s wedding took place on D’s parents home in Santa Rosa. It had a cute vintage/garden feel, with creative DIY touches, and it was a great backdrop to celebrate their union as husband and wife! Enjoy a few photos of the event!
